Summit Charter School is a community-based, small school in the mountains of Western North Carolina. Begun in 1997, Summit strives to provide the best possible education for students in Grades K-8.
Summit Charter School is a public school. It offers a choice for parents, students, and educators who want an emphasis on self-directed learning and active participation in the learning process. Key design elements include: individualized instruction, partnership agreements which honor parental responsibilities, a governing council comprised primarily of parents and educators, flexible staffing models and mutual beneficial relationships with community resources.
